On the fateful day of the 5th of Sept. of 1986, Pan Am Flight 73 took off from Mumbai, India landing safely on its first stopover at Karachi Jinnah International en route to JFK at New York City via Frankfurt, only to be hijacked on the tarmac by armed Palestinian gunmen with allegiance to Abu Nidal's Fatah terrorist organization.
